Wondering about other ways you can take part in the initiative on making a difference?

Depending on your motivation, your drive, and your specific goals there are several ways…

Visit the IAPS website
Bookmark our IAPS website so you can visit it on a regular basis.  The website offers fresh up-to-date information about organizations and services around the world.  The information provided on the website is vetted by medical professionals who are most knowledgeable about pediatric stroke.

If you browse through the website regularly you may find information about treatments, camps, medical articles, research studies…

Please pass the website along to the people on your e-mail address list.

Networking via social media
Networking is a BIG way to get involved.  By using this tool we are able reach people across the globe very quickly. Simply “Like” the International Alliance for Pediatric Stroke (IAPS) on Facebook and encourage your friends to do the same.  If there is something you see on the IAPS Facebook page that you feel is valuable information you can “share” what you see to help get information out to your Facebook friends.

Share your child's story with the media, either online or within your local news organizations. One way of doing this is by joining the American Heart Association's "You're the Cure" or the National Stroke Association's "Stroke Advocacy Network"

Research Studies
Check our Research page and see if your child qualifies for research studies and/or clinical trials recruiting in your area. You may also find some that are within a reasonable traveling distance or even an online study.

Fundraising
The options are limitless in regards to raising funds. IAPS is an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  All donations are tax deductible in the United States.

Use your imagination and raise money in honor of your hero!

An example would be to have a walk to raise awareness and collect donations. Another example is to get your community involved in honor of your child. Trivia nights, bowl-a-thons, barbeques, car washes…are all ways to raise awareness and money.

You may also like to consider making a donation “In honor of…" or “In memory of…” for a pediatric stroke child you know. Simply indicate this on the comment section of our donation page. We will have a page featuring these special donors, along with a photo if you choose to submit one.

Locally
Wear a t-shirt with a pediatric stroke awareness theme when you are out in your community.

Include a pediatric stroke statistic or statement in your email signatures

Participate in support groups in your area as a mentor to families that have a newly diagnosed child.

Find opportunities in your area to educate others about pediatric stroke such as at local schools, community events, etc.
